Inquiry

For inquiry I am in Rebecca's group impact project.me,Zac,Elli and hunter are in a group we are improving the road patrol cave.

For Next years road patrollers they will have a stored place where they can put all of the stuff.

We are thinking out side on the box how we are cleaning and fixing up the dirty cave
Q1-were we successful) we were successful because we did all the things we want to do.
Q2-what did we do)we organised all the things in the cave and made it more clean.

Book bash


title-  inside the game sounded like a really exciting book.I wonder why it's called inside the game when you can't go inside a computer game.

Cover design- it looks like it's going to be a crazy adventure because there is a computer, crown, castle,diamond and splats of blue and pink.

blurb-when it says that Chris was excited to find seven mission in uncle regs computer that hooked me in. I really want to know what the seven mission are.

Prediction-I think that chris and Amy have to complete seven missions before they can leave the computer game.and that through out the seven missions reg comes and plays the game and nearly got suck inside Chris or Amy. 

Q1-I think that Chris want to save the princess more then before because she could read the dragons witting.so they knew that it was a trap.

Q2-I think that using more detail makes it more interesting and will hooked the reader in.

Q- will Amy fall into another trap?

Q-how will they get past the mountain beast?

Q-is Chris having fun in the game or does he want to leave?


Partnership-

Hannah & I think that the two most suspenseful moments are when Chris and Amy enter the game.It’s not every day that you get to hop inside a computer game  and can’t get out!

The second most exciting part was when they all had to defend the dogs (wild critters) and climb across the chasm. The author created this exciting moment by explaining  all about the dogs and what they were doing/feeling and explaining Chris, Amy and the little princess feelings. 
Q3- when Chris and the princess fell into the chasm I think that Amy would being feeling really scared because she could drop them. If I was in the chasm I would try to stay still and wait for Friend To get me out.
Q4-I think before you read the book you need to know a little bit about video games.
Q5-(text to text connection)in the story there is a princess was captured but then she got saved in other books with princess they are captured and then saved.
Q6-(text to self)in the story they think the raja birds are dangerous but the princess said that are not dangerous I have had I time were I thought something was dangerous but I was told it was not dangerous.
Q7-text to world) dangerous things are in the world and in the story there are dangerous things too.

Hannah:
When I was at the zoo I saw some big birds but I wasn't scared because they were enclosed in a cage. I have also fallen of things lots of times but I have never fallen down anything before.

Max:
I can relate to (the start of the story) Chris playing video games and I can relate to Amy because I like reading books.

Max and I can both relate to Chris and Amy and the little princess when the walked through the bush because Max and I have done the gorge walk and our legs have got tired when we walked up the hills

Et reo term 3

Description:In et reo we have been learning how to say our body part in māori.we had to make a poster or movie I made a poster with Tom.





Big idea:the way we learnt to say body parts in māori is we sang hokey pokey song in māori.or we look at the posters around the class and we used google translate to help us learn.



Feedforward /feedback:I like your skull and bones and I'm sure all the little kids will be able to read all the wordsmith.from Tom h

Evaluation:I think we could of made our work more clear. But I think we put a lot of body parts on the poster.

Drama with Rebecca

Description:on a Thursday afternoon I do drama.in drama we have be learning to act in role by doing activities like hot seating.my favourite activitie was you can't take me.


Big idea: in my favourite activitie I learn to stay in character by talking in the sound of a skeleton.

Production

Description:the theme for the production is ora.all of the class have different theme for there garment.we are making are garment out of up cycling things.we had a choice of elements heros and villains or out of Africa.i got my second choice heros and villains.i  got some inspiration from the theme elements.

I am nearly done my paper mâché I just need to paint it. I have finished  painting My neck pice.the next thing I need to do is finish my fire cape.





Big idea:

1) The materials that I used to create my garment were:newspaper,paint,material,glue

2) The most challenging thing about production for me was:caming up with what to make.

3) One way I demonstrated a growth mindset during production was:when I was making my cape because at some points it was hard.

4) Something I am really proud of about production was:my cape because I spent lots of time on it.

5) Our school vision is to create agency, creativity and excellence. I showed this by:caming up with my own ideas and making it to a stranded.

Feedforward/ feedback:  I like how you decorated the back of your garment and showed that it was fire very obviously and this made it look very cool and interesting.  - Ben

What you could do next time is when you are on stage you can cover up where your shirt shows - Ben

Evaluation:I could of added more to it.but I think my cape turn out well.

Reading Portfolio Sample Term 3

Description: my goal this term is questioning. In workshops we have be learning to ask questions.before,during and after questions.we got a bookmark that says all of the different questions. I choose questioning because I need to work on it more then summarising.The tic tac toe that I did this week is about up cycling an old bike.

Big idea: I have learnt the things that will help me in questioning. These are the things that help my learning right there, think and search, author and me and on my own. I have learnt to question more so I can understand and learn more about the story.


Feedforward/feedback: you could work on your spelling and adding in a few more ideas and if you do get a photo of your book and put it on your blog mabey if the photo isn't that clear you could write what you write underneath the photo.
I like your ideas for the up-cycling like we could use it to generate power and the others there all good ideas you could like add questions like how could we make it better and how could we turn it into something new and how could we use that something new we made?

Digestive system

Description: in science we have be learning about the Digestive System. We had to make a moive about what we had learned so others that were not in the Digestive System for Science would know what we had learned.

Et reo

Description:we have been learning how to say food in our lunch in Mōrai.we made a moive with someone and we had to asked if they liked or don't like a food.

 
Big ideas:in et reo we have been  learning to say things in lunch box in mōrai. We had to make a movie with someone. I made my moive with Tom.he asked me if I like worms and I said no I asked if he like cake he said yes.

Feedback/ feedforward: you could improve on pronunciation. you did well on trying to talk not read. 

Evaluation: I need to work on my pronouncing words in mōrai. i think that me and tom did a all right job on trying not to make it sound like we where reading.

Writing term 2

Description: my goals connectives and conjunctions.all of us When to Elly Troy and ebony to see what your goal is.you had to fill in the sheet and see where you had more gaps.and then that was your goal.
The words that are highlight yellow are connectives or conjunctions at the start of a sentences and the words that are hightlight pink are connectives or conjunctions connecting two idea together.
 
Feedforward/feedback: your story is really good and you can see the point.
Maybe you could write the story in the doc after you do it in the book.

Evaluation: Next time I could of used more connectives and conjunctions at the start of my sentences and better spelling.other wise I think I did my story really well.

2015 Math portfolio sample

Description:in Troys maths group we have be learning to identify the quickest strategy for a question.we have be learning rounding&compensating, reversibility,equal additions,standard place value partitioning.
Big idea: Troy made up some problems and we had to work them out in two different ways.we had to find two things on the had a sum of exactly 426 or have a difference of 134.

Feedback /Feedforward: I agree that you could have made your working more clear but the thing you have you also done the other two questions have a difference between 40 & 60 and the 1st one. I also think you need to work on using a range of strategy rather than using only one. Grace

Evaluation: I think I could of made my working I bit more clear but I think I did well with my working out.

2015 Term 2 Reading

 Description: my goal is comprehension. Each week on Monday we book 2 workshops when we are not at a workshop we are Woking on  tic-tac-toe.when we are in the workshop we work on text to text,text to self,text to world. Text to text is when the some things in book is the same  or two similar things. text to world is when you make a connections with the book and the world. text to self is making connections with the book and your self.


Big idea: the tic-tac-toe I have done is were you draw a picture of a character in the book you have be reading and you write thing you have in common. In this tic-tac-toe I have shown text to self. 
Feedback/feedforward: you have done a good job with you text to self character relation thing I like how you added all the stuff that he does and that you do in the real world and I don't know how much you do the same but by reading this I know exactly what you do like him. 
You could make it a little more tidy and really try to work on your spelling.
Evaluation:I think I could have made my tic-tax-toe a bit better. I think a am proprogress at making text to self,text to text,text to world connections.

Catch Me If You Can- Defense

Description:
Every week we learn about skills and movement that will help us play sports. This term’s focus has been around defense. We made a video showing some of the goals we have been practicing. I have highlighted the thing I think I have done well YELLOW and one thing I would like to work on PINK.if it is not highlighted I can do but I did,t show it in the video. Body:
WALT: Defensive skills and movements
Success Criteria:
Body Movement
  • Weight on balls of feet
  • Feet shoulder width apart
  • Knees flexed
  • Concentration and eyes on ball, head and eyes up
  • Push hard off outside foot and go forwards to attack pass
  • Quick small feet, stay on balls of feet
  • Arms within confines of body
  • Take feet to ball
  • Land with a SBP
Intercepting
  • Body angled to see player and ball
  • Anticipate pass and player movement
Restrictive Marking
  • Meet player as they start towards the ball/where they want to go
  • stay close to the attacking player
  • Head and eyes up, arms close to body to avoid obstruction/contact
  • Angle body so attacking player is ‘pushed’ away from where he/she wants to go
  • 0.9m from ball carrier
Evaluation: I think I did well in intercepting but I need to work on Quick small feet. 
Feedback: well done max your intercepting skills are good and when you jumped and caught the ball you had good balance and a stable landing.
Feedforward: you could try to work on timing so when your practising just let it go on for a while and then know when it is going to go and jump in the way to catch it and then when you have got a real game you know when to intercept and when you passed back once you caught it it was a good chest pass.

Te Ahu a Turanga Noho Marae

Description:  In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marae in Woodville.  We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities.  We set two goals to focus on during our stay.

Big Idea:  
1.  Did you achieve your goals?  How do you know?
I know because Someone said it was 7:00.

2.  What are you most proud of from the marae stay and why?
The story telling  because I spent lots of time on it.

3.  What challenged you the most and why?
Story telling because I had to get up in front of my group.

Description: Oral storytelling is a Maori tradition. We have been planning our own story to tell on the Marae in Week 7.
Big idea: my story is about. when you sleep in on a week day you mite be late to school or to work.
